Hello! My name is Sarah Berri and this is my second semester in the Doctor of Philosophy program in Learning Design & Technology. Besides school, I currently hold the position of ESL advisor and instructor at Lawrence Technological University. I am always searching for ways to make me a better educator and this is why the PhD in Instructional Technology was the best choice for me. I have chosen the Instructional Technology major precisely because it covers a plethora of teaching and learning techniques. My goal is to be able to find solutions to today’s performance problems and to design instructional systems and materials to aid learning.

When I am not working or studying, you will find me running around the neighborhood or attending a Cross Fit class. I also enjoy cooking and baking in my free time. If you click on my profile, you will see a detailed description of my educational background, along with a deeper glimpse in to my everyday life.

  1. Thanks for posting and best wishes in your doctoral journey! You seem to have a very busy life, and I was impressed by your themed dessert table pictures, I had to look because my fiance and I are currently organizing similar things so it was neat to see what you were able to accomplish. I like to run when I can as well, in my experience it is a great stress reliever after a difficult day at work. What do you think led you to this point, and why are you interested in the Doctor of Philosophy program? Best wishes and I look forward to collaborating with you this semester.

    1. Thanks Alan, are you organizing a dessert table for a certain occasion?
yes, running is my therapy and what gives me the energy to concur life!
What led me to the Doctor of Philosophy program is my unstoppable drive. I have a problem, which is that if there's something more that i can do then i HAVE to do it. It certainly hasn't been easy and I think about quitting every single day, but then again I think about the light at the end of the tunnel. All the luck to you in your journey :)

  3. I'll ask Alan's question with a twist: Why are you in a Ph.D. program, when you could be opening your own bakery?!?!?!?!?! ;-) Welcome!
